Kitsap Legal Services supports low-income community members with their civil (non-criminal) legal issues in Kitsap County.

Unfortunately, due to the high demand for services, we are only able to provide emergency services in eviction cases. We generally cannot provide full legal representation, except in eviction cases.

DEBT/COLLECTIONS/BANKRUPTCY

We provide advice and limited assistance with paperwork completion for filing Chapter 7 bankruptcy. We do provide representation at bankruptcy court.

We also give advice for anyone with credit card, medical or other types of debt.

ESTATE PLANNING

(WILLS, POWER OF ATTORNEY, HEALTH CARE DIRECTIVES, PROBATE, ETC.)

We provide full service will and estate planning document prep for people of any age. Ask us about one of our upcoming educational clinics!

We can provide advice and counsel only for probate issues/questions.

EVICTION DEFENSE

We provide direct representation for low-income residents of Kitsap County facing eviction. If you have received a notice to vacate, please complete our application immediately.

ALL low-income tenants in Washington State have a right to full representation in an eviction proceeding. If you have received a “summons” complete our application immediately and review our Eviction Resources page for important information.

FAMILY LAW

We provide advice and limited assistance completing paperwork for the family law matters. We DO NOT provide representation or appear in court.

LANDLORD/TENANT

We provide advice only for issues regarding your landlord. We DO NOT advise landlords. Some types of issues we advise on are:

  • Issues with habitability
  • Retaliation/Harassment
  • Unreturned deposit
  • Rent increases
